Tooth Extraction in Simi Valley
What is a Tooth Extraction?
We do our best to offer the best care to keep your teeth strong and healthy. Unfortunately, there may come a time when a tooth is beyond the point of being saved. It might be loose due to gum disease, or you may have an impacted tooth needing to be removed. Regardless, we provide quality care to our patients needing to have one or more of their teeth removed.
Why would a Tooth Extraction be needed?
The reason you may need an extraction is because a tooth is no longer able to be saved. It may be severely decayed, or even loose, so keeping it in place can be detrimental to your oral health. It’s not uncommon for our patients to have impacted or problematic wisdom teeth. These teeth should be removed to help prevent future problems from developing.

Who is a candidate for a Tooth Extraction?
Dr. Ju will examine your teeth to determine if any one of them needs to be removed. It’s not uncommon to hear that you need an extraction during an emergency visit into the office. We will often recommend other treatments to save the tooth, if available. Extractions can be performed on both pediatric and adult patients.
What happens during a Tooth Extraction Near You?
The extraction procedure will begin with sedation or anesthetic. This is used to both numb the area and make the appointment more comfortable for you. Dr. Ju will then use special tools to loosen and lift the tooth out of the mouth. Depending on the tooth and area within the mouth, sutures may be needed to close the gum tissue. You will go home with aftercare instructions that are vital in keeping the area clean and infection-free. Extractions may seem frightening to some patients, but they are simple and done quickly in our office.
